Just take a look at our average speed for the day, this was due to the wonderful tail wind that guided us along side the lake to Turangi. It was a quick easy and relaxing day of cycling, the weather was perfect and there were some great views to see along side the lake.
We checked into a hostel (the lazy dog) that was a converted residential house with some sound people working there.
Tomorrow Marlieke and I tackle the tongariro crossing which is a 20km day hike over a mountain range. It is suppose to be the most spectacular day hike in the country so hopefully we get the same weather as we had today, and judging by the weather forecast (which isn't always correct) there is a good chance it will be
