Today offered no little than ideal weather all day, a balmy 20 degrees with a light breeze blowing me in the correct direction, wherever  that was as today I took a chance into the mountains to see where I would wind up. As it turned out I was taken through some wonderful mountainous areas of this region ending up at a pass I got refused to go through; this means tomorrow I'll have to take the tunnel though the mountain... I'm now getting use to the panicked/frightened/unnerved feeling I get when going through tunnels.
This morning was a cool experience as I started out having slept undisturbed by the deer of the island or any other animal and 11 hours of much needed sleep refreshed me like nothing else.
It was low tide and many tourists were walking out to the (not so much floating) Tori gate so I followed suite with my bicycle leaving deep markings from my tires digging into the mud - I got the picture I was wanting so I was happy.
This afternoon I met an older man on a bike cycling the area, having run into him a few times between towns he was willing to help me out by gesturing directions and terrain steepness, his English was not so good; however he took me down another road that I presume he recommended but as I mentioned before the tunnel bypass was closed. He was helpful nevertheless.
