Organizing my wallet this morning I noticed I was missing some money that I had stored in there; currencies from Australia and Czech Republic to an estimated value of about $70. Someone at some point over the past four days possibly when I was sleeping took it from me - the possibility of me misplacing it is not a factor and as such I am rather annoyed but nothing can be done and I needed to leave Denpasar and get out and see more of Indonesia.
I am now equipped with a new GPS system (smartphone) and a far superior tent to save on accommodation costs for the next three months until I have to return to Canada. As you can see above this new system I am using now to log my routes includes a few new data fields, it is also a far better system than I was using before, as an example, I no longer have to get online to upload a specified route to follow as I can now do it from this smartphone; there is one downside and that is that the battery life is pathetic however I have a battery bank that I can use to charge the phone as I cycle.
I backtracked down the coastal road back to Padang Bai that wasn't all that interesting and cocked around this port town waiting for it to get dark so that I can camp for the night.
Whilst waiting in town I met two fantastic and generous people, the first, a Swedish guy who gave me his last few snus and secondly a lovely Dutch/American woman named Adele who I engaged in conversation with and chatted over some beer she bought for me for an hour or so.
Adele is an interesting older solo traveller and also ex-hippy, she and I both had many stories to share and she bought me my sixth and seventh beer that i have drank in the two months that I have travelled in Indonesia - making her awesome.
I mentioned this before but for whatever reason I just don't feel the need to drink alcohol like I use to when traveling.
Adele and I both agreed that Indonesia is nearly without fault, the food and the people are fantastic but we both think that it is missing something, there's nothing wrong with it just perhaps a livelier atmosphere... But thats not it... It's missing Zing.

By the way, for those wondering what the hell is 'snus' it is a Swedish tobacco product contained in a small teabag that you tuck up under your lip, it apparently has ten times the strength of a cigarette.... and I love the stuff.
