Kuta here on Lombok is a small developing tourist town where an increasing amount of tourists are flocking due to the picturesque views, white sand beaches and great surf.
Kuta is situated beside a bite shaped bay surrounded by lush green hills with nothing more than a few huts and grazing water buffalo - it's no wonder people come here for the laid back and tranquil surrounds.
I ended up doing exactly that, lay back, enjoy the beautifully warm turquoise waters and soak up the sun.
Here I met many people, generally surfers looking for their lucky break on the nearby beaches.
Unfortunately this place is changing for the worst to accommodate all the visitors but for the moment it is still somewhat off the beaten track. When I arrived I had a bit of difficulty finding budget accommodation as everything had filled up, the cheap places to eat in town had only Westerners seated on the bamboo benches choosing down the delicious cheap food, but without any doubt these places, the food and accommodations will rise in price as there is certainly profit to be made.
In the meantime, this is one exclusively fantastic place to be.
The place at which I stayed (Honey-bee) was run by a well spoken Indonesian man named Agust, friendly as anyone could possibly be and whatever you needed, he supplied. Upon waking every morning I was always greeted by him and a banana/chocolate pancake which I would then join some other travelers in the common area - the majority of these people were from Uruguay and other Spanish speaking countries so it was nice to attempt to speak the language once again; when I say 'attempt' I struggled as I kept on mixing Indonesian with words in Spanish - it was a bit of a head fuck.
For some reason or another I did not spell well here, possibly because I was needlessly worried about missing my flight to Singapore in a couple of days and partly because this place offered Internet of which I needed to update this blog and make it look all snazzy.
It is now easier to follow my route using the map under the header - enjoy!
What an AMAZING PLACE!!!! SImply beautiful!!
