Woohoo I just hit the 8,000 'kilometerstone' of cycling, this distance added to the other cycle trips completed in other places around the world puts me in at 19,000km. I have just 1,000 kilometers to go to claim that I have cycled the distance of half the circumference of Earth!
I had a thought today too, my original plan was to cycle to Cappadocia before having to return to Antalya for my flight, instead I'm thinking ill go to Cyprus which was part of my original plan and cycle around the country there. This way I get more beaches, sun and perhaps more opportunities to meet fellow backpackers. I'll change the name from 'Oslo to Turkey' to 'Oslo to Cyprus' tomorrow.
Today was a typically standard day of pushing my feet into the peddles and was nothing strenuous.
Of course I wanted to celebrate hitting 8,000km on this trip so I indulged by purchasing a refreshing beer and drank it on the beach surrounded by local boys who stared at me confused by every thing about me; I tried my best to communicate with them but was unsuccessful.
I constantly get this… why do dogs hate bicycles?
8,000km cycled from Norway
Beaches here are lovely, although today the gusts of wind were intolerable.
