I put a huge dent into my goal of cycling the circumference of earth a whole 14km, perhaps the least I have ever done in one day. I am disappointed I have no choice other than to wait for the ferry to take me to Flores. 4 days to go.

The smooth, well maintained Australian built main road across Sumbawa apparently is the only smooth and well maintained road in Sumbawa and this is why I only covered such a minimal distance today; I was so fed up with navigating around potholes and rocks that had been strewn across the disintegrating asphalt path that I threw the towel in and parked my bike in a nearby field where I spent the rest of the afternoon looking for and shooting small insects with my new and improved macro setup (as described in yesterday's post).
This field that I parked in was a suitable place to camp for the evening so I took advantage of the cooler climate as the dark clouds moved in had a nap and relaxed for the evening.
