Seb's hospitality and kindness was some of the best I have experienced in all of Indonesia, a great guy and happy character and if anyone were to visit Tetebatu I highly recommend going to his home and make it your own, he will help you out with anything you need or want.

It was easy going to get down to the east coast of Lombok as it was mostly down hill on sealed roads and to think before arriving in Indonesia I honestly thought that the roads here would be absolutely terrible but my experience has been great with little to no issues with them even in the poorer island of Sumbawa. I hope I haven't jinxed things but I'm sure nothing here can compare with the terrible roads of Albania.
I'm happy to be on a new island for new experiences and now I am finding the locals even friendlier as I am constantly waving and greeting almost everyone who waves or shouts "hello mister" in my direction. They are so lovely with consistent smiles from all.
Why can't people in the western world be like this? Always smiling, always happy and love a carefree lifestyle.

I had a group of young attractive girls with their motorbikes chase me down and convoyed around me as I cycled, they were pleasant taking many photos of me and I now know my Indonesian is getting much better because I can now hold a conversation for an admirable 1/4 of an hour.
As the sun was setting I was looking for a place to camp but the closer I got to Sumbawa Besar which is the regional capital, the built up areas made it was less likely for me to find a place to pitch my tent. I took a side road following the coast where I found an open park beside the beach to sleep for the evening.
I even have security organized from the locals running the place but I believe it's not necessary here as the locals I have met today have been all wonderful people and I can't imagine a bad experience with them... Again, I hope I don't jinx things.

Cycling on a far better road than I expected in Sumbawa with such friendly people.
