Getting back on my bicycle seemed incredibly otherworldly to me as I was still recovering from Dengue fever with slight symptoms of nausea and dizziness bit it was time to move on from doing fuck-all and see what mainland Lombok had to offer.
Due to the almost vomit inducing head spins I came close to throwing myself off the side of the sealed, narrow coastal road I was cycling on around Lombok.
Obviously I did not want to exert myself too much and as such I took the easy going coastal route clockwise around the island however I took a wrong turn and ended up cycling towards the second highest volcano in SE Asia....
Not wanting to disappoint myself by turning around I managed to achieve climbing 500 meters in altitude up the steep pass which is certainly a surprise but tomorrow ill still have 1200 meters more to ascend to the top of the pass.
I'm loving the locals here as they allowed me to pitch my tent under some shelter near a tourist info center beside the entrance to a popular waterfall that I will check out tomorrow morning.
