Leaving Marko's place saying farewell to both him and Romain (who was wanting to head north back into Bosnia) I went on a mission to Montenegro to sort out my bicycle, I knew at some point my bike would be unridable as the rear tire was getting worse as the now unadjustable alignment of the tire made it brush lightly against the frame. There is nothing I can do other than replace the wheel.
Crossing the border into Montenegro I made my way into the first town in the hopes that a bike shop somewhere could help me out and sell me a new wheel; this so happened to be much more difficult than I anticipated because the four bike shops I went to today either did not sell parts or the part I needed wasn't available. It seems that Montenegro only has 26" rims and I need 28".
I did laps around small towns looking for either bike shops, mechanics or an individual who would repair bikes in their spare time. All of which could not help me out.
I backtracked quite a lot today ending up in Kotor after getting a ferry (for free because I met an off-duty captain who made a quick phone all for me) where in this touristy city a random old man named Kennedy who i met in street invited me to his home where I could sleep. The language barrier was quite abundant here but as a sailor around the world we got by by briefly talking about countries and port towns that we had both been to.
Kennedy also cooked up some food for me - chicken soup with liver and mushrooms; mum who tried feeding me liver when I was young and failed but being a guest in his house it was difficult to refuse the food, instead when he had his back turned I removed most of the liver from the soup and snuck it into a plastic bag. I hope he doesn't go through his trash bin tomorrow to find the uneaten liver that I disposed of...
Perhaps Kennedy just wanted the company but really he was such a lovely man wanting to cater, without hesitation to my every need.
Waiting for the green light to get out of Croatia

Stressed to find a bike shop, only took one pic of Herceg Novi, Montenegro
Around the Lake… bicycle still not good
Kennedy cooking me up that terrible liver dish. Who actually enjoys the taste of liver?
