Feeling a little better than yesterday but not by much I set off from Bas and Mirjam's place in Gorinchem after midday using the cycle route recommended by Bas, there was no reason to upload the route onto my GPS but I like to make sure exactly the route and direction I'm headed, it's a fail safe just in case I get lost. having 12 hours of sleep last night was expected but I was really hoping with all the remedies I took last night to prevent this cold from getting worse I would have felt much better - well I didn't feel any worse, so that's somewhat of a benefit. A woman who looked like she had a problem beside her bike on the side of road this morning I approached and helped her out with the flat tire she had, I thought with my help it would give me good karma, and also I like to help people regardless of karma or not. She was very grateful and tried giving me one of her rings, I refused and went on my way to catch the first of three ferries today that I almost missed because I was helping this woman. The sun was shining today and i had a bit of a tailwind and thinking I could sweat out this cold could work but it just dampened my clothes with sweat so for any brief stop I needed to layer up, normally cycling in a T-shirt would be fine but not being able to control my body temperature was irritating, too hot, too cold, too sweaty, cold again. When asking someone to refill my thermos with hot water for a cayenne pepper tea I was brewing I was invited into their home, like always the family were shocked that I had travelled for such a long time and so after a couple of quick coffees I was on my way. Im going to try everything to feel better again, because not only is it slowing my cycling down it is also ruining this cycling adventure. I found a camping spot in a forest (yay - but still was difficult to find) where I set up my tent and almost immediately after eating went to bed - lets try for another 12 hour sleep to make me feel 100% again.
