I was under the impression that Amsterdam was only 40km from where I camped, as I was told by the owner of the barking dog that woke me this morning but he was wrong. It was almost twice that distance.
I made it though, today, like cycling every day in holland was flat with several variations of wind directions but generally headwind.
Again as I have mentioned before without this GPS I would have been screwed having needed to pass over canals and rivers using bridges and under highways that in my opinion the cycling signs are scarce - comparing to the main cycle route on the west coast of the states.
I searched on the Internet for a hostel to stay at for only one night that would have storage facilities for my bicycle, I found one for only €10 a night with is a very fair price.
So, of course I made my way there and checked in.
I wanted to cycle around the city to properly check it out because the last two occassions here in Amsterdam I was under the influence of... Let's say natural herbs.
I got some cool photos of the city and also asking a czech guy for directions who I later bumped into when cycling back to the hostel and so I joined him for a drink in a park.
I was so exhausted from cycling today and despite the fact I wanted to go out I just didn't have it in me.
Some pics i took around Amsterdam
