Waking up in the morning to the sound of chirping birds is always pleasant, I knew it was going to be a great day for cycling but I only had 80 odd kilometers to hamburg so I faffed about and enjoyed the Tranquillity of the forest where I camped.
Arriving in Aukrug I had a coffee in a cafe where I got directions and basked in the midday sun for a while before gunning it to hamburg in pretty much one stint. I only stopped one time to eat some more food but because of the snus I took I just went at it until I arrived in the city where I treated myself to a beer and spaghetti bolognaise.
Tom, the friend I was staying with while in hamburg wasn't getting back from Berlin till late at night so I spent some time in a hostel in the st. Pauli district to chill and drink more beer with the staff; they were more than helpful and friendly even getting a free beer from one of the owners.
A few hours were spent here until Jess who finished work cycled me to where I was staying.
At this point I was a bit more than tipsy but all was well because Dave (a Safa) kept me entertained until Tom arrived. Dave took me to the red light district around the corner from where they lived where I found out some interesting information about these prostitutes - they all wear fanny packs, are generally stunning and don't cost much at all - now, I still would never pay for sex but it certainly was tempting.
Getting back to their place Tom had arrived home but I was too tired to chat for old times sake but as I'm going to Berlin for a couple of days I can catch up with him when I return.
