After a hearty breakfast with Jennifer I was able to sort out my belongings again and get it all back on my bicycle, I am glad that I converted my 7 year old backpack into a pannier so that I can go on these side trips without my bike without worrying about borrowing a backpack from a friend.
Getting out of Gothenburg was a pain in the ass, I was hoping there to be bicycle signs to the next town in the south, which there probably was but I simple didn't know nor remember the name of it; would you believe it that I got lost cycling, I'm guessing about 4km more than I should have.
Well, at least the wind was mostly on my back for the day, this helped a lot, I had to cycle a considerably great distance to be in Falkenberg where Jennifer's mum lived and where I had a place to stay.
The 130km I cycled today wasn't at all difficult with the wind on my back but also because there wasn't any decent climbs, I say 'decent climbs' because I enjoy the difficulty of pushing myself to the point where I'm in pain, and the sense of achievement that goes with that.
As my rear tire is wearing down I quickly jumped into a bike shop and picked up a new one that was a hell of a lot cheaper than what you can buy in canada, I also asked on the pricing on those dynamo hubs that produce a charge to illuminate a light or in my case, charge my GPS (which has been useless in helping me not getting lost - ill update it with maps of Europe soon).
After 6 and a half hours of cycling I finally made it to Jennifer's mums place where just like her daughter was incredibly hospitable, she didn't have anything in the kitchen so we cycled to the supermarket to purchase some groceries. I cooked up Swedish meatballs for dinner that I actually have never made before and turned out great, better that those balls of rubber you get in IKEA.
We chatted into the evening until My laundry had finished and I crashed hard on the bed - 130km of cycling and 170km to get to Mälmo.
On my way to Falkonberg
