Trying to get big groups together to organize trips and whatnot is always a pain in the ass. Thankfully this morning wasn't too bad, only the crew I've been traveling around with and Giom who I met last night from Quebec wanted to go see Mital Del Mundo (middle of the world) a monument (almost) on the equator. It took us a very long time to get there having to get 3 buses but the great thing about Ecuador is that transportation is unbelievably cheap and the 3 hours of transportation for the day only set us each back $1.
We did the whole touristy thing taking all these pics of us standing on either side of the equator and messing about the monument grounds then using my GPS to find he exact line that was 150 meters away from the monument that we found at the entrance of a tile manufacturer.
Heading back the the hostel we were all so tired and after a short nap were ready to hit up the bars in celebration of the city's birthday that is a week long festival.
This evening there was a huge group of us that set off from the hostel to a concert in a park where there were a few bands playing. On the way on the bus we picked up a old local man who was absolutely wasted and wanted to join us, he was adorable and I wanted to take him around as a pet, at one point he became more than irritating so i gave him money for the bus and sent him on his way.
Because there was such a big group of us it was difficult to keep everyone together and it was inevitable that the group got divided. Either way it was still a great night out playing plenty of drinking games and having many laughs.
