Second Contract Treeplanting in Alberta, Canada

We spent 2 shifts working out a campground near Caroline, Alberta with some of the people from the previous contract still living inside a tent but having better shower and toilet facilities, a nearby store (selling booze) and a river running beside the campground. The downfall to these somewhat luxuries was the food... the two cooks that the company hired who were residents at the campground had never cooked for treeplanters and there was often not enough food to go around and to be honest it wasnt all that great.
During these two shifts there were quite a lot of planters leaving (some because of the food) and some new faces showing up and it goes without saying that it was upsetting so see people go but fun to meet the new.
This contract was one that we worked last year where great money was made... this year however was awful, having to work fill plants (in late July?) and terribly priced land... I was not able to make $200+ on most days.
After the two shifts of staying at the campground we moved to a bush camp still working for the same contract where it was great catching up with some old friends from this year and last and of course befriending some new people.
The shift that I spent here was again pretty terrible for the money earned but partially because I was sent on special missions with Andre having to complete unfinished blocks working with a 4 pack, I had a lot of fun nonetheless so im not going to complain.
Babbs my foreman was offered a small contract taking place at a mine in Northern BC, he was asking for 11 people to come with him so I didnt hesitate to come along not only because it was going to make the season of planting longer but also with any luck mean we could possibly make better money than this contract.
Most of our crew boarded ship in the hopes to make better money leaving only a few of Babbs' crew behind including Andre and Cole.
The last night in camp was a good night, I finally got around to returning Jess' music that I had spent a lot of time recovering files for her and as payment she repaired my dreadlocks, I would have liked to spend more time with this girl but oh well, hopefully ill see her in Montreal when I pass through there in a couple of months.
