Drive to Prince George, BC and a short break before starting new contract.

Two trucks left the Rocky Mountain House bush camp to make their way to Prince George – a good 7 hour journey. It was a fun trip due to the amount of cheap Alberta beers I drank along the way.
Technically we had 3 days off before arriving at the mine in Northern British Columbia, we spent a lot of this time on the road travelling to get there and only one full day off in Prince George to sort our things out. This mine is really in the middle of nowhere and as such we all needed to be prepared.
In PG I did everything I needed to and even got to meet with an old friend Katrina I hadnt seen since my first year of planting, so that was great.
This mine camp that we will be working out of is a dry camp meaning absolutely no Alcohol and drugs meaning our time in Prince george was pretty messy with lots of beers sunk back although it being dead as it was on a Wednesday and Thursday nights we went out.
Wednesday was an interesting night as apparently I almost got into a fight with some local ex-cons looking for one... well I was just being friendly but Ben thought I was an inch from getting my face kicked in... In all honesty I never got the vibe that he would but these guys go out looking for a fight... Im just glad no fight broke out.
Well, Thursday was better because we went to the main nightclub called The Generator were it was relatively dead but I had fun chatting to the locals outside  as I always do.
Friday morning we left for the mine, 2 hours on asphalt roads to Fort McKenzie then 8 hours on twisting dirt and gravel roads with crazy large logging trucks passing by, it really felt unsafe but at least the scenic views were awesome.
Everyone really didnt know what to expect at the camp at Kemess Mine, arriving at the huge gate in the rain and at midnight reminded me of Auschwitz and I half expected the security guard to get us out of the vehicles and lead us to a gas chamber... what we were escorted to wasnt far off this though with small rooms pretty much a cell with the exception of bars on the windows in what is called bunk houses, this is where we will be spending almost 3 weeks.
