Some sort of ceremony on the street, it seemed like all the townsfolk were celebrating a death (Maybe, just a guess)

I couldn't believe how the daughters of Kim treated their mother; Kim is a very kind but one crazy woman and kept on insisting that I stay for Christmas and to he honest it would have been great to actually celebrate it with a family for once but after I saw how disrespectful, childish and blatantly rude her (grownup) kids were to her I was more than inclined to leave and get away from their pathetic squabbling.
Kim would come across to many as a drunk, living a carefree lifestyle on the beachfront where on occasion her daughters would come to visit from canada.
Kim would help out many of the locals employing them to help out around the house but also provide entertainment for her guests, they were all very hospitable with me, unlike the four girls who were not only rude to their mother, but also to their Australian step father and myself. I understand why Kim gets on the booze everyday because if I had children like that I would use it as a medium to cope with them. Of course I don't know the whole story about this family's issues but needless to say I didn't want to stick around with the girls unwelcoming attitudes. I thanked the workers, Kim and her husband Ray for their hospitality and set off without saying goodbye to Emma, Emily, Sarah and Sophia - if they were in the same situation they would have done exactly the same. What Bitches!
I left having a sour feeling towards the younger generation of the family making me not enjoy the day of cycling the east coast of Bali but only when I cycled past a place where many dive in and around a shipwreck I became intrigued and checked out the price to do the same.
Tulamben being one of the most popular dive spots in Bali I paid the rather cheap $25 for all the equipment, gear and with a dive master it was worth the stop over to break up the day.
The 45 minute dive around the US cargo ship 'Liberty' was fantastic with plenty of wildlife and coral growing on and in vicinity of the wreck; visibility too was good and overall a great experience but also my very first wreck dive.
Upon surfacing the rain clouds had moved in and it was clearly evident that it was the rainy season with the roads now being flooded but I still had some distance to cover to make it to the port town of Padang Bai however thanks to my broken Indonesian I found out there were direct fast boats to Gili from another diving hotspot town called Amed, it's a bit pricier than the slow boat but faster and more direct. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve after all and I want to be on an island with a nice beach.
