I know I keep on repeating myself about how friendly the people are here on Java but I honestly have not met such fantastically wonderful people anywhere else in the world they are caring, considerate and welcoming. Today I met Lilik Cahyadi on the street whilst having a quenching drink after tackling a very steep hill, this man turned out to be the brother of UI, the wife of whom I stayed with last night, Mr. Lilik firstly invited me to his home but I refused as I wanted to make it to Borobudur he then said that I could stay with his English speaking school/home stay which was a mere 3 km from the Buddhist temple and the most visited attraction of Indonesia. I agreed to this and he showed me the way. The school was a small operation founded my Mr. Hani it was tucked away in a little village with 40-70 students learning at different levels; of course when I arrived I was was swarmed by the kids because I gave them the opportunity to practice what they had learnt to a native English speaker, they referred to me as Mr. Jono and later I was asked to tell the kids a little about myself as a motivational speaker - it was fun and all the students were attentive. A great experience overall with the bonus of accommodation within the school too. Having strained my bicycle up some steep hills today I have now introduced a major problem to my bicycle, right now it is almost unridable, I am unsure exactly what the problem is but when riding I am delightfully surprised every so often when the chain slips and my groin smashes on the frame... I'll take it easy tomorrow after checking out Borobudur temple, it is only 40km to Yogyakarta so hopefully I make it to a decent bicycle repair shop to sort out the issues.
Teaching is easy – Just talk.
