The wind was simply blowing me towards Mersin, it was the complete opposite direction than yesterday benefiting me greatly.
I had organized to meet and stay with a woman on warm-showers named Nuzhet, I was making way into the city to then contact her but then fortunately for me this wasn't necessary because her and her friends saw me on the road as they were making there way for a small driving trip through the mountains. They happily turned around and lead me to Nuzhet's place where I unloaded my gear and hopped in her car for a 4x4 trip on winding roads throughout the mountains.
It was a great little break from cycling and I got to see some of the great views surrounding Mersin without the energy expense of pushing and pulling my leg muscles to move myself forward.
Nuzhet was, like almost everyone listed on warm-showers.org, incredibly hospitable and kind. I was offered the spare room of her new, swank and ambient lit apartment that like Burcu's place in Antalya was very homely.
I helped her out with making dolmas and chatted to her folks when they called via Skype.
Being sunburnt and exhausted from a day of cycling I was keen to get some rest to tackle some of the 1500 meter pass that was upcoming tomorrow so I hit the hay, or in this case a very comfortable bed.
Turkish Equivalent to Alcatraz?
Taken about the mountain roads North of Mersin, great people, great food, great times
Lunch with everyone
