Spending a few days in kelowna I was asked whether I wanted to join one of Missy's house mates to Revelstoke for some early spring snowboarding. I still wasn't sure whether I would receive money through EI but I just went ahead and join Bryan.
Now before I get into how awesome the snowboarding was in Revelstoke I have to mention how random I was that the place I was staying at with Bryan had 2 guys living there that I had worked with in Big White 3 years ago.
I had no idea they were there and had never had contact with them since doing the ski season. On top of seeing both Joe and Tony there were other coincidences running into a whole bunch of others that I met so many years ago.
The night life over the last couple of days have been great too, meeting new people and giving advice on where people should travel to when the ski season ends in the coming weeks, two of the three nights was a lot of exposure to many beers and waking up rough.
Now about the snowboarding; I didn't have any gear but thankfully Joey helped me out lending me all of his gear, the boots were far too big but with enough socks I made them work. I have been told many many promising positive things about Revelstoke and after these last two days, I am happy to say they were all true.
Although the ski resort only had a two chairlifts and a gondola the ski area was vast enough that you could find some fresh lines but to find these lines you needed to know someone who knew the mountain well. It was also bryans first time on this mountain and having been taken around with some of the people we were staying with was more than convenient. The snow was fantastic too with great visibility over the two days but at $167 for the pass, very steep (as were the runs on the mountain).
My time in Revelstoke was quite simply the best snowboarding I have ever done.
